Abraham to get playing time next season despite Werner’s arrival, says Schwarzer

The arrival of Timo Werner will not affect the role of Tammy Abraham in the club says Mark Schwarzer. Frank Lampard has made transfers for the next season to boost up their attacking options. The first transfer was Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and the next big transfer was Timo Werner from RB Leipzig making Chelsea have enough attacking options when the next season begins.

Abraham has been doing well in the team, but in recent times, he has slipped behind his top form. He has scored 17 goals in this season helping Chelsea in the upfront of the field. As his recent performance has stepped down, Oliver Giroud has found a place in the team and the speculations regarding the player’s future have only increased with doubts whether the player will have a chance at the upcoming season. ButSchwarzer is sure that the arrival of Werner will not be affecting the position of the player.

Seventeen goals he’s scored now, he scored again [versus Liverpool], I know he had a great first half of the season and he’s dropped off a little bit but I kind of expected that with the younger players. I don’t think Mason Mount’s playing at the same level he was earlier in the season, he just doesn’t have that same spark,” said Schwarzer.

Schwarzer has further added that Chelsea is a club that has promoted players with talent. Abraham has scored 17 goals this season and player with such talent will not surely be ignored by the club. When focusing on Werner he said that he is a player who can play in the middle as well as in the wider areas of the field.

Schwarzer said that Chelsea is a club who have been looking forward to bring good players to the team and they are focusing on the young and upcoming players.
