Ricardo Carvalho was wrong about Mourinho’s future

Earlier in December, the former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho was asked about what he thought was going to happen with Jose Mourinho.

At this point in time, the Portuguese manager was struggling trying to clinch victories with Chelsea but despite the clear struggles that Mourinho was going through with the Premier League club, Carvalho was certain that his former boss was capable of turning things around and rescues the team from their disastrous start of the season.

Unfortunately for Ricardo Carvalho, his prediction of seeing Mourinho coming back to the top of the Premier League never happened as the Portuguese coach was sacked and left Chelsea hanging in the bottom spots of the top tier English League.

“Mourinho can’t live with defeat, that’s why he isn’t doing great. Despite that, I think he’s the right man to turn things around at Chelsea. If they qualify, I think that Chelsea can go a long way in the Champions League.

They aren’t doing great in the Premier League, but they can knock out anyone in Europe.” This was Ricardo Carvalho’s response as he backed Mourinho for success.
Ricardo Carvalho spent 6 years performing in Stamford Bridge and 3 of those years were under the tutelage of Jose Mourinhoand during this period of time they managed to lift a number of trophies including the Premier League silverware, the FA Cup, League Cup and the FA Community Shield.

A lot of people, including Carvalho himself believed that Mourinho was capable enough to show his worth and prove why he is regarded as one of the best managers now in the world but in history as well, the ‘’Special One’’ just couldn’t make it happen this time around as Chelsea failed to perform and the Portuguese coach was eventually sacked.

It still remains uncertain as to what Mourinho will do now after being removed as the head coach of Chelsea. Ricardo Carvalho still remains being an active player even at his 37 years of age as he is a consistent starter for the French side As.Monaco.
